Stoneleigh Barn is ideally situated for those who are looking for a centre from which to take part in a variety of sporting activities. Golf, fishing, riding, clay pigeon shooting rambling and a wide variety of other sporting opportunities lie within easy reach. BALLOONING. A few hundred yards along the road from Stoneleigh Barn is one of the launch sites of Aerosaurus Balloons whose hot air balloons can often be seen drifting gently in the breeze. Folke is the closest golf course, within a mile of Stoneleigh and Yeovil G.C. is about 10 minutes drive. FISHING. There is a great deal of high quality fishing available in the region. For the game fisherman, March - October at Sutton Bingham Reservoir near Yeovil. Permits available from Wessex Water, Tel: 0845 600 4600. Several reaches of the River Stour is also within an easy drive as are Blashford Lakes, Otterhead Lakes and Durleigh Reservoir. There are also a number of very good course fishing venues - Todber Manor, Pavotts Mill, Pallington Lakes and many more are within easy reach of Stoneleigh Barn. WALKING. Sturminster Newton, a few miles down the A3030 promotes a number of interesting walks of between one and seven miles in length.
